Christopher Kennedy
Board Member
Christopher has been the Chief Executive Officer of Leadership Austin since 2014. He served as Board Chair in 2013, then interim CEO for eight months and then he was asked to serve as CEO. Leadership Austin has been igniting passion for community leadership for the last 40 years with a focus of delivering programs that explore community issues, develop leadership skills to address those issues and foster relationships that help facilitate positive, collaborative engagement in the Austin, TX, community with over 2,700 alumni.
In addition to leading Leadership Austin, Christopher is a business owner and an equity partner in residential custom home building in Texas.
He has participated in a public/private partnership between The Trail Foundation and the City of Austin that led to a $90 million bond package being passed that included a $5.4 million private fundraising effort. He led strategic plan efforts for The Trail Foundation, Austin Community Foundation and LIFT Alliance. He co-authored a teen leadership curriculum program recognized by the National Leadership Council. He oversaw the construction of four office campuses with LEED green building standards. He also is chair of the development committee for his church.
